What: In Paris representing the Peruvian Indigenous peoples
Where: From Perú
Why: “In Perú, we have insisted that people talk with us as equals. Often, governments operate, talk, negotiate, plan, without considering the indigenous voices, working on the backs of the people who live there. But I think this is changing.
We are talking, interacting, participating … We’re changing the perspective and conversation of how to live together in a world with everyone … including the multilingual and multicultural groups. We especially need to teach the city people how we live and what we think. We need them to hear our voices.”
